For tests on bends, equal tees, and equal crosses, points r and t shall be located at a position to allow
measurement of the longitudinal deflection of the fitting. Point s shall be located at the position to allow
measurement of the transversal deflection of the fitting (for cable ladder fittings, this shall be on the
rung nearest to the centre of the fitting).

(normative)

Methods of applying a UDL for SWL tests

Loading shall be applied to the test sample with a series of point loads through rigid load plates
as follows.

D.1 Type of load plates

For cable tray lengths, including mesh cable tray lengths, the load plates shall be rectangular,
120 mm � 40 mm.

For cable ladder lengths, the load plates shall have a 80 mm width and a length and a shape to
fit on to one rung or to span between only two rungs.

D.2 Distribution of point loads across the width of the sample

The point loads shall be equispaced with a number of point loads according to table D.1.
